About Us

Just A Bit Eclectic is a nonprofit tea shop located on the West side of Detroit. We sell a variety of loose teas and tea related items.  Our lite tea menu is carry-out or if you choose you may dine in and enjoy the ambiance. We sell handcrafted, vintage and retail items.  We have a garden on site.  We are able to source farm to table as the season permits.  We trust to provide you with courteous, friendly service.  We believe in equity. We are always working in cooperation with our neighboring communities, the business district and the City of Detroit

Who We Are

Just A Bit Eclectic is a nonprofit tea shop 100% of our profits goes to support the nonprofit arm, A Place to Begin.  At A Place to Begin, we  assist children in their efforts to think more creative in their future endeavors.

Our History

Just A Just A Bit Eclectic is a part of the resource branch of the nonprofit corporation A Place to Begin.  We were established in 2013 with the heart and idea to give children a beginning.  The goal of the tea shop is to give young people an opportunity to have a work experience. Everyone who comes into the tea shop and makes a purchase, helps to support a young person. One hundred percent of the profits goes to the support of a young person's mentoring experience.  Young adults between the ages of 14 through 21 have the opportunity to train and be mentored at the tea shop. We then trust to find them mentoring opportunities in fields that they have expressed an interest. The shop accommodates a number of entrepreneurial, business and career fields.  If we cannot help them fully realize their ambitions we trust to partner with like minded business that will educate and mentor our young  people.  Volunteers are welcome
